Crowdfunding should probably be a piece, but often provides an initial flush that doesn't necessarily lead to sustainability.
I agree. I see an endeavor like this as an initial push with crowdfunding
and, perhaps one of the perks is a discounted subscription. Subscriptions
would be needed for the ongoing revenue, in addition to advertising, etc.
